The Welder trade in ITI (Industrial Training Institute) is a practical skill-based course that trains students to join metal parts using different welding techniques. In this trade, students learn how to cut, shape, and weld metal materials used in industries such as construction, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, and fabrication workshops.
The course duration is usually 1 year, and the minimum qualification required is 08th pass. During the training, students learn various types of welding methods such as Arc Welding, Gas Welding, MIG Welding, TIG Welding, and Spot Welding. They also study metal properties, welding positions, blueprint reading, safety rules, and the proper use of welding tools and equipment like welding machines, electrodes, gas cylinders, welding torches, helmets, and grinders.
