WHAT WE LEARN DURING THE COURSE
During the course, students are introduced to computer fundamentals, including hardware components such as the CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, and storage devices. They learn about operating systems like Windows and basic Linux, file management, software installation, and system maintenance. A significant part of the training focuses on office automation tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access. Students learn to create professional documents, prepare spreadsheets with formulas and charts, design presentations, and manage databases. These skills are highly useful in office environments for data handling and report preparation.
In addition to office applications, the COPA trade also covers basic programming concepts. Students learn HTML and CSS for designing simple web pages and are introduced to basic scripting and programming logic. They also study database management using MySQL, where they learn how to create databases, insert records, update data, and generate reports. Internet applications, email handling, online form filling, digital payments, and cyber security awareness are also important parts of the curriculum. This ensures that students become confident in handling online and digital tasks, which are increasingly required in modern workplaces.
The course is highly practical in nature. Students practice typing in both Hindi and English to improve speed and accuracy. They complete small projects such as creating resumes, developing simple websites, preparing Excel-based reports, and performing data entry tasks. Along with technical skills, employability skills are also taught, including communication skills, basic English speaking, interview techniques, teamwork, and professional behavior. These soft skills help students become job-ready and confident in professional environments.
After completing the COPA trade, students can work as computer operators, data entry operators, office assistants, web designers at a beginner level, DTP operators, or CSC/online service center operators. Many students find opportunities in schools, private firms, government offices, banks, cyber cafés, and e-governance centers. Some students also choose self-employment by opening computer centers, providing online form services, or doing freelance typing and data entry work. The starting salary generally depends on skill level and location, but experienced candidates can increase their income significantly with advanced skills.
